General Information

Located in the heart of London at the center of historic Bloomsbury, SOAS is the only Higher Education institution in Europe specializing in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. It is home to 5,500 students from over 130 countries. The low student to staff ratio (11:1) is one of the best in the UK, and it allows small group teaching at the institution.

The academic focus at SOAS is on the languages, cultures and societies of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. As an exchange student at SOAS, you are able to design your own unique program of study. You can choose from over 350 courses and build a unique program including both traditional disciplines and specialist courses across each of our three Faculties - Arts & Humanities, Law & Social Sciences and Languages & Culture. All the courses are taught by world-renowned teachers in specialist faculties.
